Jiangmen City is close to the ancient town of Zhongshan, the hometown of Chinese lamps, the LED lighting industry. The model of government guidance, enterprise operation and market operation attracts semiconductor lighting and other optoelectronics companies. The R&D center will build a basic platform integrating talent cultivation, product development, business incubation and technical services, providing technical and talent support for the development of the green light source industry in Jiangmen. In April 2010, Jiangmen City became the first strategic emerging industrial base of Guangdong Province jointly established by the provinces and cities.
